Sex is supposed to be a place of connection and pleasure, but for many people it’s a source of stress, avoidance or pain.
We use trauma-informed, medically-aware hypnotherapy to work with the anxiety, shame, pain responses and past experiences sitting underneath sexual problems – so intimacy can feel safer, kinder and more enjoyable again.
Is Sex Stressful, Painful or Just… Gone?
Low desire or difficulty “switching on”, even with a partner you care about
Erections that are unreliable, shut down by anxiety or don’t last
Premature ejaculation or struggle getting to orgasm at all
Painful penetration, vaginismus or pelvic tension that makes sex feel impossible
Sexual trauma history that still shows up in your body now
Shame, religious or cultural messages that get in the way of pleasure
A relationship strained by mismatched desire or repeated sexual disappointments
How clinical hypnosis can help?
1. Calming performance and anticipatory anxiety
We work with the anxious part of your mind that’s scanning for failure or pain, so your body has a chance to respond instead of locking up or checking out.
2. Changing pain and tension patterns
For painful sex or vaginismus, hypnosis helps your nervous system and pelvic muscles move from automatic defence to “safe enough to soften”.
3. Rewriting shame-based beliefs
We target deep scripts like “I’m broken”, “I’m too much” or “I’m not desirable”, and replace them with more accurate, kind and adult beliefs.
4. Supporting real-world intimacy
We rehearse honest conversations, boundaries and small steps back into touch and closeness, at a pace that respects your body and history.
What Might Change for You?
Less anxiety leading up to sex or sexual situations
More ease with desire and arousal
Reduced pain or fear around penetration for many people
Less shame in and out of the bedroom
Clearer, calmer communication with partners about sex
A sexual relationship that feels more like choice than pressure

Research
This paper demonstrates that hypnotherapy is a very valuable tool for a wide variety of sexual dysfunctions.
Recent reports suggest that hypnosis may be a useful technique for the treatment of sexual dysfunction. Five distinct strategies for the utilization of hypnosis in sex therapy can be identified: (1) as a diagnostic tool, (2) to improve self-confidence, (3) as an adjunct to behavior therapy, (4) for the direct removal of symptoms, and (5) to facilitate the resolution of neurotic conflicts.
There are various different ways in which hypnosis can be used to treat ED.
Many people with ED, Vaginismus report positive results using hypnosis to help get and maintain an erection.
While medical interventions may be necessary to address physical causes of sexual dysfunction, it’s equally important not to overlook the psychological factors that can contribute to these issues. Sexual performance anxiety, negative beliefs, and past trauma can significantly affect a person’s ability to enjoy a fulfilling intimate life. Hypnotherapy offers a unique and holistic approach to tackling these psychological barriers.
Several studies have shown promising results in using Hypnotherapy as a treatment for ED, with improvements in sexual function, desire, and overall satisfaction. Hypnotherapy, therefore, has proven to be a viable treatment option for men with erectile dysfunction. Most pharmacologic therapies were associated with adverse effects.
